Arlette Garreton, MSW, RSW

Arlette Garreton is a Registered Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working with children, youth and adults.

Since 2001 Arlette has been facilitating skill building groups for young women between the ages of 11 and 17 and adult women.

In 2003 she founded a youth focused non-profit agency called Kids and Youth Activity Centre (KAYAC), and subsequently a Friday night youth sports program featuring soccer and basketball was born. Now young people have a safe environment to socialize on Friday evenings.

Since graduating from the University of Toronto with a Master’s degree in Social work in 1997, Arlette has worked as a School Social Worker with the Toronto District School Board and as a Clinical Social Worker at Davenport Perth Neighbourhood and Community Health Centre.  Arlette graduated in 1995 from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Social Work degree. She also worked as a research assistant at the CM Hinks Delcrest Centre where she contributed to a longitudinal study on children with aggressive behaviour. 

In June of 2015 she launched Bouncing Back Services, a private practice providing counselling services to individuals, couples and families with the purpose of inspiring optimal mental health and wellness in individuals who access her services.

Arlette is a registered member with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers and is also a Certified Anger Management Professional. Her focus is in providing mental health counselling to individuals, couples, youth and families experiencing challenges with conditions such as stress, anxiety and depression. She also provides assistance and support to individuals who need to access services such as Ontario Disability Support, Old Age security and Ontario Works and Immigration Services.

Arlette has joined the Wellness Institute's team of health care professionals to further inspire health and wellness from a mental health perspective.
